Dartmouth rugby student-athletes Gordon Silvera '08 and Anthony Arch  '09 rebuilding a community center wall in Cape Town, South Africa, while on tour. Most teams would have simply found enjoyment at the beach or on the field over a spring break trip, USCD coached players looked for ways to connect with their world.

The 1962 Dartmouth team established a rich playing tradition with Ireland's Trinity College during this historic tour to the Emerald Isle. Dartmouth has since played Trinity on many occasions, along with many other top European academic institutions. 

The USA men’s 7s team shut out Scotland 17-0 to win the Plate at the 2013 Tokyo 7s, the first time they have won the Plate in a World Series tournament in 12 years. Under the tutelage of USCD coach, Alex Magleby, the team would go on to win the Plate at the Glasgow 7s and another Plate Final in the London 7s, besting South Africa and Fiji along with way. "Dartmouth Night" in Hanover, NH, is an annual tradition that celebrates the many Dartmouth student-athletes who will go on the next day to represent the College at Homecoming against their Ivy foes. 1st year students run around the giant bonfire the number of times of their class year.
